Tabletop Games are Supposed to Be Fun, So Why Can They Feel So Much Like Work?
You love playing TTRPGs. But lately, it feels like a second job.
Over the years I’ve spoken to thousands of players and GMs, and I hear the same stories again and again. Time-poor GMs who are burning out and players overwhelmed trying to learn the rules of the game.
I Want To Make It Easier
Back in 2017, I was exhausted. I was spending hours every week building my homebrew world and prepping for sessions, but I realized I was having less fun than my players! So I started building tools to make the game easier, just for myself at first, but when I shared them online I was flooded with messages from other GMs saying the same thing; This is exactly what I needed!
“Been GMing for roughly 14 years and keeping notes was always my worse attribute as a GM. This was an amazing video and will assist me for years to come. Thanks A lot!” - YouTube Comment for the OneNote GM Bible.
My first video, a walk through of my OneNote GM Bible, really struck a nerve with fellow GMs, and I had hundreds of people telling me it was exactly what they had been looking for.
Since then, I’ve been building tools to take the stress out of storytelling, because great stories shouldn’t need 10 hours of prep! Everything I make is designed to help you run games with less pressure and more joy.
Helping New Players Feel More Confident
But it’s not just GMs that I want to help. Learning D&D can be difficult, and teaching new players can be exhausting when no one seems to want to read the rulebooks.
That’s why I’ve created tools that take the friction out of learning and playing fifth edition. My Class Cheat Sheets for the 2014 and 2024 rules make creating your first – or tenth – character a breeze.
No more flipping through rulebooks mid-combat. Just a quick glance and they’re back in the action.
For a brand new player, a 3-page character sheet can feel like a wall of noise. That’s why I made a simplified, half-page version that gives them only what they need, and nothing else!
Designed for Real Tables
Let’s face it, most game supplements are written like coffee table books. Beautiful to look at, but not exactly built for the real world of GMing.
Who has time to read 300 pages before a session? When you’re squeezing in prep between dinner and bedtime, or exhausted after a long shift, it shouldn’t feel like homework just to play.
And for players? Learning the rules can feel like studying for an exam; especially if you’re new, anxious about slowing things down, or trying to make sense of a dense rulebook on your own.
That’s why I design tools for real people, real tables, and real constraints.
Whether it’s a cheat sheet that helps a nervous new player feel confident, a zero-prep adventure that lets you run a game tonight, or a character sheet that doesn’t require a degree in bookkeeping - everything I create is built to make games easier, faster, and more fun.
Making TTRPGs more accessible doesn’t just help a few people, it makes the whole game better. It means tools are faster to use, rules are easier to teach, and adventures are quicker to run. Everyone benefits, and everyone feels welcome.
As someone with a chronic illness, I know what it’s like to try and function in spaces that aren’t built for you. That’s why accessibility isn’t an afterthought, it’s a core principle of everything I design.
